Cel mai nou film al regizorului palestinian Kamal Aljafari, „With Hasan in Gaza”, se vede în premieră națională în deschiderea celei de-a 15-a ediții a BIEFF, la doar o lună după premiera mondială de la Locarno, unde a fost recompensat cu Premiul Europa Cinemas Label.
🇵🇸 După filmele found footage „An Unusual Summer” și „A Fidai Film”, Aljafari își întoarce atenția către arhiva proprie: el se folosește de imagini video filmate în 2001, în timpul unei călătorii în regiune alături de Hasan, un ghid local, pentru a crea „un omagiu adus Gazei și locuitorilor săi, tuturor lucrurilor care au fost șterse și care mi-au revenit în minte în acest moment urgent al existenței, sau inexistenței palestiniene. Este un film despre catastrofă și despre poezia care rezistă”, după cum a explicat chiar regizorul.

Palestinian director Kamal Aljafari’s newest film, “With Hasan in Gaza”, will open the 15th edition of BIEFF just one month after its world premiere at Locarno, where it won the Europa Cinemas Label Award.
🇵🇸 After his found footage film “An Unusual Summer” and “A Fidai Film”, Aljafari turns to his own archive: he uses video footage filmed during a 2001 trip to the region with Hasan, a local guide, to create “an homage to Gaza and its people, to all that was erased and that came back to me in this urgent moment of Palestinian existence, or non-existence. It is a film about the catastrophe, and the poetry that resists,” the director told Variety.
